  • I have a current Food Handlers’ Permit, but not a separate and dedicated commercial kitchen

How to get these delicious cookies?

1. Click on the Donate Button in the next section of whatever amount you choose, whatever feels good!

2. Contact me by clicking the Contact Me button below and tell me the TYPE (blonde, cocoa, or combo), NUMBER of cookies requested, CONFIRM THAT YOU’VE MADE A DONATION, and PICK UP or MAIL DETAILS(dates, times, location or address).

3. I will confirm by email within 48 hours, and get to baking! Made fresh to order.

    • Each dozen takes 45 mins of kitchen time which doesn’t include shopping for ingredients & packaging materials, packaging products and clean up

    • The butter is browned, adding a “toasted or caramel like flavor due to Maillard reaction”

    • The average price of gourmet cookies is $5/cookie (per Google)

    • Each cookie weighs 59 grams vs. average Choc Chip cookies are 25-40g. Even a half a cookie will do ya! (they keep in freezer for up to 6 mon when properly protected)

    • Consider the costs of premium ingredients, labor, overhead and more

    (However, LFN does need compensation for their time and expertise similar to any other business.)

 FAQs

  • There is no firm criteria for who qualifies- just a person in need. LFN will not discriminate, nor ask for proof of income. The donation assistance is on an honor system. If a person requests assistance through the donation process, LFN will make every reasonable accommodation to cover the service expense through donations or partial donations as funds are available.

  • A separate accounting of donations will be itemized. The money will count towards profit to LFN for those receiving donated services from LFN. LFN will count the donations as earned income at tax time.

  • No; at this time LFN is licensed as an LLC not 501c3 charitable organization and as such you cannot get a tax deduction from a donation to LFN. This may change in the future. LFN would be happy to issue a receipt for any requests.
